Kickin' It

Aimee and I attended a holiday party last week at SoFi Stadium. It was fun because they let us down on the field during the party.

We took turns throwing some passes at targets, running a 40-yard timed dash and kicking a field goal through the uprights.

I won't give away the precise results of our performances but Aimee exhibited fantastic form on her kicking.

Our throwing results were a mixed bag but a lot of fun. The best part was Aimee's shoeless sprint where she thought she might wipe out just before the goal line, but didn't.

We took turns taking some extra kicks and running some pass routes in the end zone. It was a fun experience and nobody got hurt!

Aimee's New Job

Aimee has been working hard the last four years on a single project here in the L.A. area. It is finally about finished and now Aimee is ready to move onto a new challenge.

She was recruited by another firm that knows her well and knows what a good job she does. She accepted a position with them and has now started her new job.

While Aimee has been working mostly from home since March of last year, this job will allow her to work from her home office full-time. They have given her all the equipment and tools she needs to work from home and she has a nice set-up. Her commute time to work is now about 10 seconds!

This leaves plenty of time and energy to pursue other projects and interests - like softball!

Her new firm is based in Florida and Aimee made a quick trip to Jacksonville last week to visit the home office and meet some of her new colleagues and other new hires. One night for dinner they took the group on a boat ride down the river to a local seafood restaurant. It was a smooth ride and Aimee survived the excursion just fine.

This job will involve working on a number of projects simultaneously and there will be occasional travel. She is very happy with her new job.

Minnesota Visit

We made a visit in July to visit Aimee's dad and brothers in Minnesota. We had planned this visit for June of last year but, like everyone, had to change plans.

Lars and Molly moved onto a farm property since we last visited. They've got pigs, chickens, horses and llamas among other animals. Aimee's favorite was a llama named Gus Gus who likes to get right up in your immediate space and just stand there.

We also took in a Twins game while we were there with Nils (who let us stay at his house).

We got to visit with Aimee's dad a few times also. He is well and lives nearby where he is well taken care of and one of the favorites of the staff. He had a big smile on his face when Aimee showed up.
