Hockey Game

Recently Aimee and I attended an L.A. Kings hockey game at the building formerly known as Staples Center.

It was a good game, at one point the Kings scored two goals in eight seconds. Unfortuantely the home side couldn't hold their lead and ended up losing the game in overtime 4-3.

Aimee enjoyed it. It was her first hockey game since we saw Daniel Finnegan in El Segundo three years ago

Super Bowl

Aimee and I have been watching the playoff games this year. Some very exciting games.

I got to attend the Wildcard game between the Rams and the Cardinals. It was the first time I went to an NFL playoff game. It was a great atmosphere.

The home team won that game in a blowout but it's been fun to see all the close finishes in the other games.

Obviously, people around here are excited to see their local team playing in the Super Bowl at the new stadium. It is a pretty amazing building. It's an outdoor stadium with a translucent roof stretched over the top.

We'll be happily watching on TV like everybody else.

Happy New Year

Aimee and I rang in the new year the same way we often do:  a quiet evening at home and early to bed.

As usual, the midnight fireworks started around 9 and lasted well into the early morning. We're able to sleep through them for the most part.

New Year's Day was sunny and perfect for softball. After pancakes and ND football Aimee played 9 innings of ball and then we had some dinner and watched the Rose Bowl.

Sunday was another nice day and we both got to the park early for a 9am softball game. I came home while Aimee stayed to play another game at 11. That is her usual routine on Sundays. I make it when I can.

We're both happy and healthy and looking forward to the new year and hopefully seeing the pandemic finally start to subside.
